Would USA be a fragmented states if the Confederates have won the civil war?

I have done civil war reenacting for 17 years now and have read and read and pondered this question myself. I really believe that if the south had found some way to pull (it) off that the events of WWI and WWII would have brought us together again. Even keeping the world wars out of it, the industrial revolution would have ended slavery eventually. Anyway, even during the war there were many influental Conferate leaders who wanted to arm the slaves for use as an augmentation to their already depleted forces. Anyway to sum up my answer I don't think we would have stayed split for long. Hope this helps!
