Personal Loan recovery?

I had taken a personal loan of Rs.50000/- from HDFC bank in year 2005. However I lost my job after repaying 4 installments. Since then the recovery people were after my life till 2006. In 2006, i clearly told the bank people that I can't repay my debts and asked them to stop haring me. After my firm statement, they stopped nagging me and they didn't send me any court notice also till 2009. After 2009, I'm not sure if they sent me any notice or not because I shifted my house. However in 2011, that is just 4 days back, I got a call from the bank asking me to repay my debts. I went to the bank and told them that I can't repay because my financial cirstances are not good. They still call me over the phone and nag me. Please tell what will be their actions and what can be my defenses?. I don't have any money to pay them. Also I have heard that after so many years, they are not supposed to ask me pay back. Is it true. Please help me with all legal defences.
